Fall in love with Italian cuisine!

I love Italy! It is a wondrous place full of art, culture, religion, natural beauty and amazing food! I could not get over how much weight i put on whilst here and how the Italian themselves kept so slim with all this amazing food around!

Everything just tasted so good here! You had platters of pepperoni and pastrami with little bowls of olive oil and foccia bread. Not to mention the divine range of different pastas, sauces, pizzas, salads and meats. I think my favourite dish by far though was the stuffed, roasted red pepper ravioli in a spicy tomato sauce, all topped off with amazingly fragrant parmesan cheese and a wedge of thick fresh garlic bread. The wine was sublime here too, especially the red wines sought in Northern Italy. I think they were the best due to the amount of sunshine the sloping vineyards received around the Tucsonan part of the country, and these wines always complimented my meals very well…a little too well at times. The prices for wine were also very cheap as there was no import tax obviously as it was produced in Italy, so you could pick up a really good bottle of something nice for around two Euros in the supermarkets and just a little more if you we’re in one of the bars or restaurants.

My partner and I stayed in the villas in Tuscany and they were absolutely great! We watched the sunset every evening, hand in hand, whist sipping on some of the sweet nectar from this glorious region. We wanted our own private Villa because as much as I love children, they can be a bit of a hassle when you’re trying to relax and take it easy. We both have very stressful and demanding jobs so unwinding on holiday is very essential to us. I remember a few years ago when we were trying to chill out next to the hotel pool and the children we’re messing around on the big lilos as they do and one accidently tripped over my drink and split his head open. The parents knew it wasn’t my fault but I just felt so bad, so we’ve always gone for our own private Villas since that experience.

We’ve already booked Sicily villas as our next holiday in the summer, and simply cannot wait. Hopefully I won’t put as much weight on this year though!
